Is the mattress you sleep on old and lumpy, have exhausted springs that just don’t have the spring in them anymore, or just old and you feel that you need to upgrade to a newer, more comfortable mattress? Searching for a new mattress can be simple for some, and may seem difficult for others. How much do you really know about mattresses? It’s extremely important to have a bed that can provide you with therapeutic qualities that you deserve after a hard days work…or play. But it can be expensive, so you want to make sure that you buy the right one, and to do that, you have to do a little research. It’s not that complicated, so don’t let the word “research” scare you. All you have to do is be aware of what’s out there. Chances are, it’s been a while since you last had to purchase a sleep system, and tons of research has gone into making them better, so there are lots of new styles and designs out there.

Everyone feels better after a good night’s sleep, but what if you could turn that good night’s sleep into a fantastic, or an amazing night’s sleep, and get just that night after night? That would be great! Well, there are mattresses for sale that can provide you with that. A mattress doesn’t have to have springs in it that will eventually become exhausted and unable to return to it’s initial form. There are foam matresses now that can very well last a lifetime without losing their ability to take their original form. Sure, polyurethane foam mattresses and memory foam mattresses can be a little more expensive than a springs, but we, as people, spend one third of our lives in bed. A good bed can do wonders for your posture, soothe aching joints and so much more.

So if you are indeed in the market for a new mattress, there are things to keep in mind when shopping around. Sometimes spending a little more can get you so much more in the long run. More importantly, you want to try them out, lie on them right in the store, and try and do this in the positions you normally sleep in. Try all types of mattresses including foam, innerspring mattresses, air mattresses and flotation, which is basically a waterbed. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, as it can make a big difference in the mattress you buy. Sticking with big name brands like Sealy, Simmons and Serta can also be a good idea, but don’t hesitate to give others a try, because you just never know. Just make sure that the one you decide on provides you with a sufficient amount of support, comfort, space and will last you for many years to come. You will be amazed at how great you’ll feel all day long after a night’s rest on a new top quality mattress.

Buying a mattress can always be put off until later. Or can it? You shouldn’t scrimp on the single most used piece of furniture in your house. This single item has a lot to do with your health and well being also. How and why should I select a mattress that’s right for me? First, you must understand two basic mattress construction terms. The core is where the springs and structure are. This is what determines the longevity and support. Old mattresses used an inner spring design. Usually, the more inner springs used in a mattress, the better it was. Not so anymore. A current mattress design uses “zones” to locate the number and types of springs since our body weight is not evenly distributed, then why should the springs in our mattress?

The second construction term for a mattress is the upholstery. Several different types of foams, fibers, and materials make up this top layer. This gives the mattress the pillow top or soft feeling. Springs are there for support of this comfort layer.

I personally am sleeping on a Simmon’s Beauty Rest Back Care mattress. It has the wrapped spring coils and several comfort layers. It even has some memory foam. It is an excellent bed and it was reasonably priced.

I looked at several models today. It seems the inner spring mattress will be going to the way side after a few years. Everyone wants a memory foam bed. They have several to choose from, but they are all made out of the same material. This foam is nice and Sealy and Serta have finally come on board with their versions. The tepurpedic has been out there the longest and seems to be the best quality at the best price.

However, foam mattresses just don’t look like a regular bed. They look like a flashback to the days of the popular water beds. Its just not what we are accustomed to seeing. King Koil came out with a combination of this model. A traditional looking mattress, with contemporary foam for a core. You get the look of a regular bed with the benefit of a solid foam core. No more inner springs.

Comes to find out, the most sold mattress in the store where I was at, was the King Koil brand as I described above. Actually, the top 3 sellers were all King Koil brand, with only one of the three have an inner spring coil.

Beds weren’t meant to last forever. You can chunk it and get another. If it’s bad enough for you to get a new one, don’t pass it on and give problems to someone else, either. And don’t sell your old mattress as it is against the law in some states.

Memory foam mattreseses, which are otherwise known as viscoelastic foam mattresses, have made a leap in the world of sleep quality. If you’re looking for optimal comfort, pressure relieving qualities, durability and a great night’s sleep night after night, memory foam mattresses may very well be the way to go for you. There are however many things to consider if you are planning to make a purchase on a top quality sleep system to guarantee your satisfied with your new product. For that reason, we have gathered information which may come in useful.

Memory foam has been around for a while now, and for a long time, Tempurpedic was the sole manufacturer of its type. Over the years, many other companies decided to make their own version of the memory foam mattress, and this competition forced prices to come down, making memory foam mattresses much more affordable. However, if you are looking for a top quality product, you can still expect to pay a fairly high price. Other companies manufacturing memory foam mattresses include Sealy, Simmons, Dormia and Sleep Aids. Although Tempurpedic puts out an excellent product, and guarantees your satisfaction, you can’t really go wrong, but they are not cheap. There are less expensive options for you to choose from, But be very careful and do your research before you invest in a mattress that won’t live up to your expectations.

Not all memory foam mattresses are made the same, for instance, there are several different densities in memory foam. Generally, the higher the density, the higher you can expect to pay. The products you will usually find range from 2.5lb density to 5lb density. The density is how much one cubic foot of the foam weighs, and the higher the density, the firmer the foam. You should avoid any foam having a density less than 3.5 if you would like a quality product. Be very careful of low advertised prices, as they may be either defective, bad pours of foam, low quality and run the risk of not being durable. 5lb density foam may be too firm for some, and just perfect for others, so the best way to get what you want is to try them out yourself, ask plenty of questions pertaining to foam quality and durability.

The problem with many mattresses is that they just don’t fit your body. They are either rigid and resist the curves of your shape or they are overly soft and “give way” beneath you. The memory foam mattress was created in answer to this problem. Memory foam is a material that is designed to be “viscoelastic.” This means that it will conform to your body, but it also has the ability to return to its original shape if forced. This material molds to the body, offering support and relieving pressure where needed.

If you are shopping for a memory-foam mattress at a discount and you don’t mind shopping online, check out Overstock. Overstock sells the overstock merchandise from other companies, often at deep discounts. At the time of this writing, Overstock sells a large variety of memory foam mattresses, memory foam pillows, and memory foam topper.

Wonderful Buys manufactures a line of Visco-Elastic memory foam bedding products, including pillows, mattresses, and mattress toppers.

Sealy offers the Reflexion Latex Foam Collection, which consists of mattresses ranging from $1299-$3499 for Queen-sized. This memory foam mattress is made of natural, body-contouring foam and is available in firm, pillow top, and plush. According to the website, latex is anti-microbial, dust-mite resistant, and mildew proof, so the mattress has health advantages.

Tempur-Pedic offers an extremely popular line of memory foam mattresses and bedding. Tempur-Pedic says that their product is light and breathable and will not cause sweating and clamminess.

The Isotonic Memory Foam mattress is another popular choice. It is available at many online stores, such as the Ultimate Back Store, Healthy Foundations, Comfort House, and Everyday Comfort.

Memory foam mattresses can be bought at most major mattress stores. They can also be purchased at department stores, such as Target and WalMart. Memory foam mattresses are available in many price ranges, so make sure you comparison shop before you buy. Hopefully, you will soon be resting easy.

From college dorms to guest rooms, teenager bedrooms to bachelor pads, futons are cool. Futons are a popular choice in small spaces. Since they can be used as a couch or a bed, they are an extremely versatile piece of furniture.

When shopping for a futon, consumers should also consider what type of futon mattress they will want. Futon mattresses are usually made of either cotton or foam, or a combination.

When buying a futon mattress, you will need to think about how the futon will be used. The answer to this question will greatly affect the type of mattress you should buy. If the futon will be used as a bed, you will need to buy the thickest futon mattress you can afford. You can save money by buying a thinner mattress, but at the cost of your comfort.

Will the futon be used as both a couch and as a bed? If so, the mattress will have to endure a lot of folding. In this case, you will need a futon mattress that is very flexible. An innerspring mattress or a cotton-polyester blend is probably a good choice. Mattresses containing foam are also good possibilities as foam is good at conforming to new shapes. Foam mattresses also give added support.

Futon mattresses are available from such well-known manufacturers as Simmons, Beautyrest, and Sealy. They can range in price from way under $100 to several hundred dollars, depending on size, brand name, construction, and materials.

Futons Store offers futon mattresses with free shipping; Overstock often sells futon mattresses at deep discounts over retail; Department stores such as Target, WalMart, and JC Penney sell futon mattresses.

It is also a good idea to buy a futon mattress cover for your futon. This will protect it from staining and the need for frequent washing. This, in turn, extends the longevity of your futon mattress. In addition, the cover adds a touch of color and style to your futon.

We’ve all been there. First, we spend a sleepless night, tossing and turning. Then we spend the next two days with body aches, sore from head to toe. The effects of a bad mattress can be serious. Then we face the daunting prospect of shopping for a new mattress. This task can be a bit intimidating. There are so many different prices, sizes, styles, and firmness to choose from. They come in drastically different materials, as well. Mattresses can be filled with air, water, fabric, feathers, springs or foam. One of the most popular — especially for people suffering body pain — is the foam mattress.

Foam mattresses are popular because of their body-contouring nature. The foam literally reshapes to mold to the user’s body. This is designed to strategically place pressure where needed, while relieving the strain on other points. It is believed that this relieves pressure from the neck, spine, and lower back, eliminating much of the soreness and pain associated with regular mattresses.

The foam mattress is not entirely without drawbacks, though. Some people complain about the body-contouring nature that it’s famous for. If, for some reason, you are not happy with the newly molded shape, you cannot change it. Some reports also say that the foam loses resiliency quickly. Others complain that the foam gets extremely hot, causing sweating and clamminess. Despite these complaints, many people do prefer foam mattresses.
